Calpe is a municipality on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. It is famous for its beaches, such as Arenal-Bol. On a headland to the east is the Peñon de Ifach, a huge limestone formation with a wide variety of bird species. At its foot are the ruins of Pobla de Ifac, a medieval fortified town. The Red Wall is an iconic castle-like building designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill.
